FAQ
Why choose Chiropractic Care?
By detecting and treating the underlying cause of a problem, rather than just covering up symptoms, Chiropractic Care offers a more complete solution. Your nervous system controls and co-ordinates every single organ and tissue in your body. Your skeletal system protects your nervous system. It is vitally important that both systems function optimally, as a team, to keep you healthy.
What is Chiropractic Care?
Chiropractic Care is based on the principle that the Power that made the body, heals the body. Your nervous system is the River of Life in your body, supplying all necessary information to all areas of your body.Chiropractic Care focuses on finding and correcting the problem, rather than chasing a symptom. A body that is able to fully communicate with all of its parts is able to heal faster and function more optimally. Any disruption to that communication will cause you to simply move away from health.
What is a Chiropractic Adjustment?
Chiropractic literally means “done by hand” and is the combination of art, science, and philosophy. Technique can vary between doctors, but the premise that a healthy body is an optimally functioning body remains true among all practitioners. The Adjustment is used to improve spinal motion, remove nerve interference and to increase wellbeing. Adjustments are safe, natural, and minimally invasive.
Is Chiropractic safe for me and my family?
Chiropractic is safe and natural for spines of all ages. Children do very well under Chiropractic Care and can develop optimally with a healthy spine. Chiropractic is the least invasive, natural approach as compared to drugs or surgery. Malpractice premium rates for Chiropractors are much lower than those for other health care providers, due to the safety of Chiropractic
What is a Subluxation?
Can I tell if I have a Subluxation?
The best way to find out if you have a Subluxation is with a spinal checkup. You can sometimes feel well and still have nerve compression due to a Subluxation. Your body is very resilient and will continue to function until it can no longer continue. Symptoms can occur at the end of a problem, not always at the beginning. You get your teeth checked regularly. Wouldn’t it make sense to get your spine checked?
Do children need Chiropractic Care?
Children experience multiple traumas as they are growing and developing. The very first spinal trauma can even occur during the birth process and delivery itself! We make it our highest priority to check each member of the family to create a written record for the early detection of Subluxation. That way, these little ones have the best chance to develop optimally and grow up healthy. Chiropractic Care can be preventative, by correcting Subluxation early in life rather than waiting for a health crisis to develop.
When should I start bringing my kids to a Chiropractor?
Your child can be checked as soon as you are comfortable enough to bring him or her into the office. Birth can be very traumatic to mother and baby. Both should be checked as soon as possible to allow for complete healing and full recovery. Children of all ages do well under Chiropractic Care. It has been shown to significantly help with symptoms of colic, ear infections, bed wetting and many other childhood issues
Is it ok to see a Chiropractor if I am pregnant?
Pregnant mothers experience many changes as they go through each phase of pregnancy. Chiropractic Care can help to alleviate some of the common symptoms reported during pregnancy, including lower back pain, sciatica, muscle cramping, pelvis and hip pain. Delivery can be more comfortable and easier with a healthy spine and nervous system. Depending on comfort level, the Adjustment can be modified based on mobility and positioning ability.
Can a person who had back surgery see a Chiropractor?
Yes! It has been shown that after a surgical fusion, the areas above and below the fusion will degenerate much more quickly. It is vitally important to keep all areas of the spine as healthy as possible, and even more so when there is an increased demand due to surgery. A complete physical examination and X-rays (if medically necessary) will determine what type of Chiropractic treatment will be best following any type of surgery
Why do Chiropractors take X-rays?
X-rays are like a road map of what you have put your spine through. They also help to determine what the next steps should be to achieve optimal health. Things like surgical fusions, arthritis, disc degeneration, abnormal spinal curvatures, bone spurs, and tumors can all be detected through the use of an X-ray and will affect your outcomes and required treatment. Seeing their actual spinal alignment and bone structure is often times very surprising to patients. A report with the doctor will explain everything is detail.
What is a Drop Table?
We use Omni drop tables in our office. They have three-dimensional drop pieces and utilize gravity to assist with the Adjustment so that the force given is gentle for young and elderly patients. Tension holds a separate piece of the table up in position, until the doctor applies a gentle pressure which will cause the table to drop.
